We are very happy to announce that the USST will be taking part in this year’s Experiential Learning Expo! This is an on-campus event which promotes the different ways in which students are able to apply the skills they learn in class — and what better example of this than the USST?
Our teammates will be at the expo (located in Upper Place Riel) from 10am-3pm this Thursday, March 15.

Our teammates have returned from the critical design review in Ottawa! They successfully presented the design of the USST’s nanosatellite to a panel of judges at the Canadian Space Agency for the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge. Our team has received the results from this exciting venture and are looking forward to sharing them with the public over the course of the next week. The press release can be seen here. We are happy to announce that our press release this morning was a huge success! We had a great turnout and received a lot of media attention. We were very excited to finally be able to announce our collaboration with the United States Naval Research Laboratory and unveil our satellite prototype to the public!

In just a few days, our team president, Aarya Shahsavar, will be speaking at the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference. Aarya will be talking about the measurement of total electron content of ionospheric plasma using nanosatellites. We wish him luck!
Earlier this month, we had the preliminary design review for the satellite we’ve been working on as part of the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge. We’re happy to say that it went very well and that our design has been fully approved!
