The team has begun working on its newest project, the design and construction of a lunar excavator. The goal of this project is to design a robot that can be remotely controlled, or autonomously operate on its own to excavate (pick up) the sediment on the lunar surface. This robot is called a lunabot. The team hopes to, and is planning on participating in the annual NASA Lunabotics Mining Competition.
